We have all fallen in to an abyss but we just haven’t realized it yet. The change that has taken place in our world in the last 10 years is greater than the previous 100 years. The changes that one generation is experiencing, took 6 or 7 generations to experience in the 1900’s.

 Now picture this. A family of four comes in to a coffee shop, buys its lunch and sits down to eat. During their meal no one speaks. No one looks up. They jam fast food in to their mouths, while playing on handheld devices, sending messages, listening to I-tunes and surfing the Net.

 They leave the restaurant and the kids have to be driven back to school. Dad fumbles with his cell phone while sipping his coffee. Mom checks her Facebook account and the kids in the backseat are texting to their friends. The kids get dropped off at school, and the parents go back to work. Hardly a word was spoken during the lunch hour. This pattern is repeated millions of times every day in different ways all around the world.

Prisons Overflowing in Britain's Police State

In Britain the number of convictions related to the recent riots in that country has reached a record high. The prison population hit over 86,000- only 1150 spaces short of capacity.

By any measure Great Britain has become a modern day police state. Everyone is a potential terrorist and everyone has been treated that way for many years. In the cities video cameras are watching and listening and police now encourage citizens to report “suspicious” behaviour- reminiscent of Russia under the Stalin regime.

Just look at the response of the UK Conservative Prime Minister, David Cameron. Rather than address the root causes of this unprecedented violence, the Conservative mantra is to “get tough on crime” and apply harsh sentences. Does this sound familiar?

The sentencing is draconian in most cases. Two men who tried to incite a riot using Facebook were sentenced to 4 years, even though they were unsuccessful! One woman was sentenced to 4 months for accepting a piece of clothing from another woman who stole it. People are being evicted from their homes if they participated in the rioting.

The UK government has turned its back on its people. Young working class and poor, unemployed people are through their actions crying out for a better future- some sort of hope.

What would Canadian students do if our government tripled college tuition fees as they did in the UK last fall? You can be sure that our students would protest in the streets. Who could blame them?

As a previous letter to this newspaper indicated, the global unrest is being caused by younger generations. The Guardian newspaper reported that 66% of recent defendants in the UK were between the ages of 11 and 24.

Britain is moving in the opposite direction regarding its social policies and laws. The once mighty British Empire is falling fast and is getting desperate. The government has become dysfunctional; force and punishment will not solve the deep-rooted problems of society caused by decades of corruption and greed.

Free Enterprise Economic System Undergoing Meltdown

There are so many crises going on around the world right now, with uprisings going on all the time.  It’s hard to keep up to date with these global events and it is my sense that there’s a lot more to come. There’s an awakening going on and because of improved communications like social media, the people realize that they are not alone.  Globally, the huge gap between the rich and poor is at the heart of the discontent.

 

U.S. in Economic Freefall: Dire Circumstances Ahead According to Ron Paul

 

 

TVO host Steve Paikin was looking for a silver lining in his interview 
with American Congressman Ron Paul on March 30, 2011 
 but none was to be had.

On many questions I felt that Paikin was in left field about what is 
really happening with the U.S. and around the world. He wanted Ron Paul 
to give his approval to American foreign policy fluff, because Paikin felt 
the U.S. was acting out of 'humanitarian' interests....which is a lot of 
patent nonsense.

Congressman Paul states that 'humanitarian' interests are just a smokescreen
that the U.S. uses to invade, occupy and control foreign countries. The
military is so overstretched that very few of them remain in the United States.
But their real purpose is to protect and defend Americans but they are absent.

Bottom line...'truth' is a bit like cream rising to the top. Illusions are instantly 
destroyed. It's so great when it happens. 

Ron Paul is a force to be reckoned with.

The United States Wants to Extend its Influence into Canada in 2011: Harper Needs to Defend Canadian Sovereignty!

The Conservative government announced during the Christmas break that Canada would continue to hold talks with the U.S. in the New Year in regards to, what else, security.  Of course, true to form, Harper conveyed little new information to the media, which also failed to ask the tough questions as usual.

 You will remember that the SPP(Security and Prosperity Partnership) agreement between the U.S., Mexico and Canada was initiated under Paul Martin in 2003 and continued for at least 5 years, to “integrate and harmonize” the polices and laws of the three countries. Most of this planning and scheming was carried out in secret, with no press permitted to attend, and with wishy-washy press conferences like the one in Montebello in 2008. When questioned about the expense and content of these SPP meetings, the leaders of the three countries made jokes, basically spitting in the eyes of Canadian taxpayers.

 Fortunately, enough people must have opposed about the SPP because officially it was scrapped. Well, not exactly.

United States To Bring on Police State in 2011: Basic Rights Denied at Airports Spreading into Communities

The United States is using the strongest propaganda that it can muster, in order to get the population to submit to radical airport security measures.

During the last 12 months, the TSA in the U.S. has forced people through poisonous radiation, scanner machines, which have earned huge profits for members of the elite such as Michael Chertoff. This man used his position as Homeland Security Secretary to promote the use of the airport scanners, so that he could capitalize on the spending of millions of taxpayer dollars for his private gain when he left office.

 There is no doubt that these scanners emit dangerous radiation, and are even more risky for children and pregnant women. But the Obama administration could care less. The staff who work close to these machines are also at risk of developing cancer after five years of continuous proximity to the scanners. If you doubt that, recall what your dentist does when taking an x-ray of your teeth. Firstly, he puts a metal apron over your vital organs to protect them, and he physically leaves the office while the x-ray is taken. I think the point is obvious; your dentist doesn’t want to be anywhere near the radiation.

The Big Wall Street Banks Have Found A New Way To Strangle The American People: Predatory Property Tax Collection

It turns out that the big Wall Street banks have found a dirty new way to make loads of cash from U.S. homeowners, and they really, really don't want to talk about it.  So what is this dirty new business?  America's biggest financial institutions have become property tax collectors, and it is extremely lucrative.  From coast to coast, the big Wall Street banks are buying up thousands upon thousands of tax liens and are making a killing by socking distressed homeowners with predatory interest, outrageous penalties and almost unbelievable legal fees.  In some areas, the big banks are able to foreclose on these homes in as little as six months.  The elderly and the poor are the most common targets of these practices.  An absolutely brilliant expose in the Huffington Post has brought these issues to light, and it is creating quite a controversy in the financial world.  The big banks are doing nothing illegal here.  Local governments are offering to sell thousands of tax liens and somebody is going to end up buying them.  But something seems extremely unsavory about the big Wall Street banks capitalizing on the economic downturn that they were so instrumental in causing in such a predatory manner.

Are We Ready For More Global ‘Shock Therapy’ in 2010?

Naomi Klein’s, The Shock Doctrine  was one of the best books in the last decade to spell out how the world is moving quickly towards a global, fascist government, disguised as a benevolent democracy,  in which nation states are brought to their knees at a moment’s notice. Economic shock therapy of all kinds, is the cheapest, most effective way to widen the gap between the rich and the poor, which has always been the goal of the Elite.

 Attacking the Chicago School and Milton Friedman, Klein shows in chapter after chapter in her latest book, that Friedman’s notion of bringing about rapid change could only happen effectively when people are deliberately “shocked” by their governments and leaders.

 Friedman traveled the world to bring this message to politicians. After a natural disaster, terrorist threat, economic downturn, biological warfare such as a flu virus, or starting a war are all examples of the conditions that are necessary before a government can bring about the change it desires.

 Remember the ‘shock and awe’ of the invasion of Iraq. The newspapers and the television networks did their part in promoting the illegal war, with the Orwellian doublespeak at the bottom of the television screens, “Operation Iraqi Freedom.” In this case the people of Iraq were being shocked and terrorized, and the American people(most unknowingly) had their Constitution and their Bill of Rights gutted by the Patriot Act.  Huge steps were made in advancing a Police State in the U.S. from 2001 to the present.
