U.S. in Economic Freefall: Dire Circumstances Ahead According to Ron Paul

 

 

TVO host Steve Paikin was looking for a silver lining in his interview 
with American Congressman Ron Paul on March 30, 2011 
 but none was to be had.

On many questions I felt that Paikin was in left field about what is 
really happening with the U.S. and around the world. He wanted Ron Paul 
to give his approval to American foreign policy fluff, because Paikin felt 
the U.S. was acting out of 'humanitarian' interests....which is a lot of 
patent nonsense.

Congressman Paul states that 'humanitarian' interests are just a smokescreen
that the U.S. uses to invade, occupy and control foreign countries. The
military is so overstretched that very few of them remain in the United States.
But their real purpose is to protect and defend Americans but they are absent.

Bottom line...'truth' is a bit like cream rising to the top. Illusions are instantly 
destroyed. It's so great when it happens.

The United States Wants to Extend its Influence into Canada in 2011: Harper Needs to Defend Canadian Sovereignty!

The Conservative government announced during the Christmas break that Canada would continue to hold talks with the U.S. in the New Year in regards to, what else, security.  Of course, true to form, Harper conveyed little new information to the media, which also failed to ask the tough questions as usual.

 You will remember that the SPP(Security and Prosperity Partnership) agreement between the U.S., Mexico and Canada was initiated under Paul Martin in 2003 and continued for at least 5 years, to “integrate and harmonize” the polices and laws of the three countries. Most of this planning and scheming was carried out in secret, with no press permitted to attend, and with wishy-washy press conferences like the one in Montebello in 2008. When questioned about the expense and content of these SPP meetings, the leaders of the three countries made jokes, basically spitting in the eyes of Canadian taxpayers.

 Fortunately, enough people must have opposed about the SPP because officially it was scrapped. Well, not exactly.

Harper Government Gets High on Extradition of Marc Emery-the Prince of Pot

Mindelle Jacob’s recent story in Sun Media about the extradition of Marc Emery for selling marijuana seeds and his imminent 5 year sentence in the U.S.  contains a lot of relevant information, but unfortunately omits the most crucial argument in what is becoming another Harper government farce.

 Marc Emery, the Prince of Pot has been a marijuana activist in Canada for more than 20 years, and has been selling mail order marijuana seeds from Canada, with the full knowledge of the Canadian government.  He has paid thousands of dollars in taxes to the government on the revenue from selling seeds, and Health Canada even recommended that medical pot patients contact Emery for their supply source.

 

Are We Ready For More Global ‘Shock Therapy’ in 2010?

Naomi Klein’s, The Shock Doctrine  was one of the best books in the last decade to spell out how the world is moving quickly towards a global, fascist government, disguised as a benevolent democracy,  in which nation states are brought to their knees at a moment’s notice. Economic shock therapy of all kinds, is the cheapest, most effective way to widen the gap between the rich and the poor, which has always been the goal of the Elite.

 Attacking the Chicago School and Milton Friedman, Klein shows in chapter after chapter in her latest book, that Friedman’s notion of bringing about rapid change could only happen effectively when people are deliberately “shocked” by their governments and leaders.

 Friedman traveled the world to bring this message to politicians. After a natural disaster, terrorist threat, economic downturn, biological warfare such as a flu virus, or starting a war are all examples of the conditions that are necessary before a government can bring about the change it desires.

 Remember the ‘shock and awe’ of the invasion of Iraq. The newspapers and the television networks did their part in promoting the illegal war, with the Orwellian doublespeak at the bottom of the television screens, “Operation Iraqi Freedom.” In this case the people of Iraq were being shocked and terrorized, and the American people(most unknowingly) had their Constitution and their Bill of Rights gutted by the Patriot Act.  Huge steps were made in advancing a Police State in the U.S. from 2001 to the present.

I would like to respond to the recent story in the media regarding the grand opening of the RCMP headquarters on Tollgate Road in Cornwall.  Cornwall is a small city in Ontario on the St. Lawrence River, and is on the Canadian/US border. When I see an event like this with all the dignitaries and the politicians present, I like to find out if there’s a hidden agenda. Often there is one.

Without any explanation it was reported that among the policing partners at the new RCMP headquarters would be the New York State Police force?

Americans Deny Emergency Landing to Canadian Jet

Even though the story was given very little media coverage, and almost no investigative follow up, a near tragedy was averted on March 6, 2005 when Canadian Air Transat Flight 961 developed mechanical problems 30 minutes north of Cuba.

The captain of Flight 961 realized that the rudder of the plane had become disabled as the plane went into a steep dive, and immediately requested an emergency landing at Fort Lauderdale International Airport, the closest airport. Inexplicably, and in violation of international aviation treaties and law, America refused permission for the Canadian jet to execute an emergency landing! That’s right, you read correctly. The Air Transat plane was denied an emergency landing by the United States.

Some people might think that there must have been a ‘communication problem’ or a ‘misunderstanding’ but that is simply not the case. Here is what the captain announced to the passengers when he was denied the landing:

“Ladies and gentlemen, we have a minor problem with the aircraft but the American authorities have denied us landing permission in Florida. We are therefore returning to Cuba and should be landing in about 40 minutes.”

Due to the rudder and stabilizer damage, the aircraft had to land as straight as possible to avoid any lateral strain. The captain made an 180º turn towards Cuba, which put incredibly strain on the already damaged rudder. Any slight miscalculation during the turn and exceeding the stress limits on the damaged stabilizer, would have plunged 270 people into the swamps of Florida. Fortunately it didn’t happen.

For a moment, think the unthinkable. Suppose the plane had gone down, which was a distinct possibility. What would have happened and what would we know?

Add a few American dead, or perhaps several hundred to the Canadian body parts strewn on the ground. The cockpit voice recorder would have gone crashing into the swamp, right in the middle of Jeb Bush’s jurisdiction and may have never been found. If that were the case, then we would have never known what was said during those last ‘fateful’ moments in the cockpit.

Instead, we have 270 Canadians who heard the refusal-to-land message from their ‘American neighbours’ via the captain?

If the plane had gone down would the Americans have called a press conference and admitted that they refused an emergency landing to a Canadian plane? Would they have taken responsibility for the tragedy?

If the plane had gone down the ‘terrible tragedy’ would have generated enormous adverse publicity for Airbus in general which supplies Air Transat, and in particular, for the maiden flight of the giant double-decker Airbus A380 ‘Super Jumbo’ scheduled for mid April, 2005.

However, that adverse publicity would have been good news for Boeing, the American ‘flagship’, whose sales have been low, its technology outdated and its financial position, tenuous. Boeing is currently being bailed out by a $23 Billion contract with the Pentagon.

Do you ever get the feeling that we are pawns in the middle of a global game of chess? We are blips on a screen and sometimes the blips disappear. Decisions are being made everyday in the interest of war, money and power.

The American neocons could care less about the value of human life; we are all expendable in their view. Look at all the young American soldiers whose lives have been needlessly terminated or ruined in Iraq. Also, what about the hundreds of thousands of deaths of Iraqi and Afghani civilians?

It doesn’t matter that Canada opened its arms to American travellers on September 11, 2001. It doesn’t matter to the American administration that we live side by side.

Increasingly, those countries that oppose American interests are being punished in the most devious ways one can imagine.

I’m anxious to hear the ‘official story’ from the White House on this one. I’m also anxious to hear the official response from the Canadian government on this breach of international aviation law?

Canada-U.S. Border Issue is a Sham

The new all party caucus addressing border issues between Canada and the United States is another sham taking place. Our M.P, Guy Lauzon has fallen for the American trap, and is now toeing the line, as reported in his recent, undated report to constituents.

With a faint Canadian flag in the background, and the title “Fighting for You!” on the flyer, and a picture of the American Ambassador standing next to Lauzon, all we needed was an American flag embedded somewhere, and the takeover would be complete. This flyer is about as un-Canadian as it gets.

Firstly, we are still waiting for Ambassador Celucci to apologize to our prime minister and to all Canadians for his outrageous remarks about the Canadian decision to refuse to participate in missile defense. A foreign diplomat has no business interfering in the political decisions of Canada. His sarcastic comments regarding our decision are unacceptable. On other occasions he has admonished and criticized Canada’s political decisions, and tried to use fear tactics in shaping our laws. Celucci needs to remember he is a guest in this country, and as such should keep his opinions to himself.

Once again the United States is using the border issue as a means of asserting itself upon the government of Canada. At the Mexican border, for example, authorities look the other way, while an amazing 10,000,000 Mexicans enter the United States illegally each year. The Americans are saying that they want to have tight border security, but what they’re really doing is opening the borders more than they ever have been! Amnesty may be granted to between 15-20 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. How did they get in and what is going on?

One thing for certain, Canadians aren’t lining up at our border to immigrate to the United States.

In Canada, we are being held to ransom for our political decisions. Even when a Montana judge supports an injunction to prohibit Canadian beef from crossing the border, President Bush wonders out loud how this happened? This issue is such a huge farce it would be laughable if it weren’t so serious. Everyone knows that Canadian beef is safe; the issue is routinely joked about on comedy shows, but nevertheless, the beef still isn’t crossing the border.

If the Americans can’t be straight with us, how can we trust them on other issues?

As for the Conservative party, the last time they got involved in trade agreements, Mulroney sold Canada down the river in a 200 page, free trade agreement that is not available to read for the next 20 years. We don’t really know the details of the FTA.

Mulroney’s friend, Lucien Bouchard was parachuted from Ottawa to take Quebec out of Canada, but fortunately for us that didn’t happen. Quebec is much better off being part of Canada than being the 51st state of the United States. So for the moment, the Americans are not able to divert our Quebec rivers and get their hands on Canadian water, which will be the cause of much conflict in this new millennium.

The upshot to all of this is that politicians of any stripe are not to be trusted, and we must constantly remind them for whom they work and what we want for our country. Above all, we need to constantly search for the truth which is becoming much harder to find.

Canada Says “NO” to Missile Defence

As you might expect, we in Canada are now facing criticism from the Bush administration for our decision to reject missile defence.

The American government has not learned any lessons from its mistakes over the past four years. Shameful slaughter of civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq, the death and injury of American soldiers, and continued support of the Israeli brutality and murder of Palestinians have plunged the world closer to the global elite’s aim to create a third world war.

Of course, Bush has said on at least one occasion, “that when we’re talking about peace, we’re really talking about war.” Spoken in true Orwellian style, this “puppet for democracy” has no conscience and could care less about the importance of peace in the world. He defines himself as a war president, and one of his goals is to take Canada down that same dark road.

Fortunately for Canada, we have a Liberal minority government in power, which is forced to listen to the other parties and to the people. Normally, majority governments just steamroll the opposition parties and put the appropriate spin on their decisions.

This time, Paul Martin has gone head-to-head with the Bush administration. The arrogant Paul Cellucci, outgoing American ambassador, has stated publicly “that Washington would deploy its anti-missile system over Canada’s airspace anyway,” with or without Canada’s consent. Cellucci has really crossed the line this time, and is not authorized to make these kinds of statements as a diplomat. Cellucci needs to apologize to Paul Martin and all of Canada.

If the U.S. has already decided on a course of action for missile defence in Canada, with or without our consent, it starts sounding like a bargain with the devil. In this case the devil would like us to agree with the unilateral action it is taking. As Linda McQuaig said in the Toronto Star, “It’s only rape if your resist.”

The United States is the only remaining superpower, a country that has committed countless war crimes since WW2. It openly revealed its war agenda for Iraq and Afghanistan as early as 1997, three years before Bush took office.

But Canada is and always has been an opponent of any country militarizing space to obtain dominance. So, Paul Martin’s minority government has made the right decision, and one that has already echoed around the world. Canada has stood up to its Big Brother south of the border, and by doing so has made a gutsy decision.

These kinds of tough decisions are what makes Canada a sovereign country, and the message is that we will not buy into military dominance and destruction to support Bush’s war agenda.

Missile defence is a ploy and an intrusion not just into our airspace but an intrusion upon our culture and beliefs. More importantly, we need to avoid this American Trojan horse which will not be satisfied with capturing our airspace. Unfortunately, its forces on the ground are not far behind.
